We therefore find ourselves with a breadth of involvement, which allows us to offer the Mananga Experience to many types of organizations.
The aim of sustainable development is to meet the needs of today without compromising the needs of future generation. At Mananga we recognize the need to empower managers and development agents to overcome serious environmental problems that are invariably part of the socio-biophysical systems. There are a number of generic constraints on the development of successful integrated environmental management. The appropriate approach to these problems is to systematically identify such constraints so that each becomes part of the focus of the environmental management task and resources are devoted to understanding and overcoming them.
The Integrated Environmental Management Course is designed to look at how current constraints on management, development and public administration of environmental issues can be integrated to address these constraints at organizational and development levels. Around this course we have also developed specialized course on environment.
Health Management Courses
We have developed the Effective Primary Health Management Course and related courses to cater for the management development needs for health sector. Primary health care delivery is a complex process requiring the most effective use of resources which are always and often in scarce. In addition to central policy makers and local authorities, primary health care involves communities in making decisions about their own health. The principal weakness in achieving health for all is weak management. The Effective Primary Health Management Course is designed to help health managers master the principles of management.
The aim of this course is to develop and improve knowledge, skills and managerial techniques that are appropriate for better health delivery at national, district and community level in private and government health facilities. The course also aims at equipping participants with a conceptual and practical framework for managing human and technological resources in a strategic and proactive manner in order to achieve organizational objectives.
